Refund Policy

It sounds weird, but processing payments and refunds costs Convert3D money. We pay transaction fees and service provider costs for every charge. So when we refund a payment, we lose money on those fees. Luckily, you can try almost everything for free before you buy.

Try before you buy

Convert3D offers a free version of its services so you can evaluate the product before making a purchase. You can convert, compress, and preview 3D files at no cost. We encourage you to test the service thoroughly and contact our support team with any questions before purchasing credits or a subscription.

The free tier should be considered a "free look period." Use it to confirm that Convert3D meets your needs in terms of functionality, format compatibility, speed, and quality.

Credit purchases

Credit packs are non-refundable once purchased. Because Convert3D provides a free tier that lets you fully evaluate the service before buying, all credit purchases are considered final.

Credits are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Unused credits expire after this period and cannot be refunded, transferred, or exchanged for cash.

Subscriptions

Because we offer a free version of Convert3D to all users, we do not issue refunds for subscriptions once you upgrade to a paid plan.

All subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel anytime through your billing settings or by contacting support. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account moves to the free tier plus any remaining credits you may have.

You are responsible for managing your subscription and canceling on time. We do not send payment reminders before renewal, and since we have costs associated with all payments, we do not issue refunds if you forget to cancel your renewal.

AI and compute-intensive services

AI-powered features such as AI rendering and image-to-3D incur significant compute costs on our end each time they are used. Refunds are not available for AI services that have been consumed.

When we will consider a refund

We may, at our sole discretion, consider a refund in genuinely exceptional circumstances, such as:

  • A verified technical issue on our end that prevented you from using the service entirely, and that we were unable to resolve within 30 days of you reporting it.
  • A duplicate or erroneous charge caused by a billing system error.

To request a review, contact support@convert3d.org with your account email and a description of the issue.

We do not issue refunds for the following

  1. You no longer need the service.
  2. You purchased credits or a subscription but did not use them.
  3. You already downloaded converted, compressed, or otherwise processed files from the service.
  4. You are dissatisfied with the features available or expected features that are not offered.
  5. You found an alternative service you prefer.
  6. You are dissatisfied with conversion speed or file processing time.
  7. You attempted to process a corrupted file that cannot be opened by its native application.
  8. You experienced temporary or intermittent technical issues.
  9. You missed a deadline or suffered other losses arising from your use of the service or its unavailability.
  10. You forgot to cancel your subscription before the renewal date.
  11. An accidental purchase occurred.
  12. The price of a credit pack or subscription changed after your purchase.

Refund processing

If a refund is approved:

  1. You will receive an email confirmation.
  2. Approved refunds typically appear within 5-10 business days.
  3. Final timing depends on your payment provider and bank.
