Lights
Light sources and properties
Lights define scene illumination and can be baked or evaluated at render time.
How it works
- Types: directional, point, spot; IES photometrics and area lights in some formats.
- Parameters: color, intensity/units, range, cone angles, shadow settings.
- Environment/IBL uses HDR maps for image-based lighting.
Interoperability notes
- Intensity units differ (lux, cd, exposure). Expect to tweak after import.
- Some formats don’t carry all light properties; engines fill defaults.
- For real-time, prefer physically-based intensities and HDR environments.
