SolidWorks conversion

Jens Fursund, Mar 21, 2026
Convert3D now imports SLDPRT, SLDASM, and SLDDRW files.

SolidWorks files have a way of landing on machines that cannot open them.

It's because Solidworks files are pretty complex. They can contain Parasolid, display-list caches, older OLE containers, newer ZIP-based containers, assemblies, colors, and fallback geometry.

Convert3D now reads those paths directly and can recover either high-fidelity CAD geometry or the display geometry that ships inside the file.

How to use this right now

Drop in a SolidWorks file and export it to GLB, STL, OBJ, STEP, and more.
